A total of 26 prizes were awarded to youngsters for their submissions in the “Youth Hospitality Activities - Macao Tourism Courtesy Short Video Contest”, which drew over 170 entries, the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement on Saturday.
A prize-giving ceremony was held on Saturday for the contest, which is part of the “Together We Deliver Exceptional Hospitality as Tourism Ambassadors” Training Series launched by MGTO in conjunction with integrated resort operator MGM.
The contest aimed to “bring young people closer to tourism, encourage creative productions and cultivate their sense of belonging towards Macau”, while adding that the city was depicted as a “travel destination of warm hospitality, promoting the Macau Courtesy Campaign and reinforcing Macau’s status as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure” through the short videos.
Among the prizes distributed at the Saturday event, which had 100 attendees, were one gold award, two silver awards, three bronze awards, and 20 merit awards.
Deputy Director-General of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR (MSAR) Yang Quanzhou and MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, along with five members of the judging panel, were present at the ceremony, the statement said.
The contest was co-launched by MGTO and MGM and coordinated by the Macao New Chinese Youth Association, with the full list of winners available on https://ep.macaotourism.gov.mo/contest-macao-courtesy-2024/?lang=en
