A variety of artworks are currently on display at the Tap Seac Gallery for the recently launched “Annual Exhibition of Macao Visual Arts 2024 – Western Mediums Category”, which is presented until December 29.

Those visiting the exhibition will find a total of 45 award-winning selected works created through various mediums and covering different themes, according to a recent statement from the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).

An open call was made for contemporary artworks in Western mediums, with the statement noting that the exhibited works were selected from 178 artworks submitted by 181 artists. The submissions cover “Western mediums” such as sketches, watercolours, oils, prints, sculptures, ceramics, photography, video, mixed media and installations, with the works showcased chosen by a jury of visual arts experts and scholars.

Moreover, among the 45 pieces/sets on display, 10 of the artists won the “Excellent Work Awards” for their art.

IC President Deland Leong Wai Man noted in a statement displayed at the gallery that the exhibition “is quite varied, with works showing skilled creative techniques and profound thinking that highlight local artists’ unbound creativity and artistic individuality”.

The free-admission exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, including public holidays, while guided tours in Cantonese and Putonghua are also available at 3 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. respectively on weekends and public holidays. More exhibition details can be found on
