The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested nine mainlanders on Wednesday for alleged loan-sharking in casinos in Nape, PJ spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a special press conference yesterday.
The nine suspects are four men and five women aged between 22 and 51, according to Lei.

PJ officers received a tip-off on Wednesday that a loan-sharking gang was operating out of a flat in Taipa. Later that day, PJ officers went to the unit and arrested the nine suspects and seized around HK$70,000 in cash and a quantity of IOUs and account books, as well as cable ties to handcuff gamblers defaulting on their usurious loans, according to Lei.
