Macau’s number of package tour visitors rose by 5.2 percent year-on-year to 213,000 last month, with those from the mainland up by 2.1 percent to 189,000, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced yesterday.
Foreign package tour visitors increased by 36.3 percent to 20,000, and those from South Korea (10,000) and India (2,000) rose by 89.8 percent and 37.1 percent respectively.
In the first 11 months, a total of 1,908,000 package tour visitors were recorded, an increase of 70.9 percent year-on-year. Package tour visitors from the mainland went up by 63.4 percent to 1,699,000. Foreign package tour visitors surged by 179.4 percent to 182,000, with those coming from South Korea (79,000) and India (23,000) soaring by 257.9 percent and 426 percent respectively.
