The Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) announced in a statement on Wednesday that it has recently detected a case involving the chief of a station of the Fire Services Bureau (CB) suspected of falsifying attendance records and concealing that he had been absent from duty during work hours.
According to the statement, an investigation was initiated last year upon receiving a tipoff, discovering that the person involved left Macau twice when he was supposed to be on duty between December 2023 and May 2024.
The chief, the statement said, also left his post for more than an hour on three occasions, returning only to clock out, attempting to disguise his absence.
The statement said that the case has been referred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), as well as reported to the Fire Services Bureau for possible follow-up action.
