Three local taxi drivers and a Vietnamese car wash worker were arrested yesterday for their involvement in a theft case by finding and keeping a passenger’s mobile phone, a Public Security Police (PSP) spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said one of the taxi drivers, surnamed Wong, is in his fifties while the second, surnamed Fong, is in his thirties. The third driver, surnamed Ng, is in his fifties while the car wash staff, surnamed Bu, is a non-resident worker from Vietnam.
According to the spokesperson, a couple got into the taxi driven by Wong in Cotai at about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. However, Wong quickly dropped the couple off because they could not reach a deal on the taxi fare.
