The 14th Macau Literary Festival kicked off on Friday at the Former Barra Slaughterhouse Site, offering members of the public a raft of activities until this Sunday.
Also known as The Script Road - Macau Literary Festival, the ongoing event features panel discussions, book launches and film screenings as well as artistic performances. The activities are being held at the Former Barra Slaughterhouse Site Capitol Theatre, D. Pedro V Theatre, Albergue SCM, Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau and the Consulate General of Portugal.
Friday’s opening also saw the launch of a photography exhibition titled “New Independencies” by Alfredo Cunha, a lecture entitled “Poetic Writing in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, and a concert entitled “It’s the Caffeine Dancing” by Peace Wong.
Today one will be able to see the launch of a photography exhibition titled “NomadicTimes” by Jessie Rao Yongxia at Albergue SCM and a screening of Luís Filipe Rocha’s film “Grey and Black” at Capitol Theatre at 9 p.m.
Moreover, a statement provided on Friday noted that the screening of acclaimed films, shorts and documentaries will be held from tomorrow through Thursday. Panels and book launches are also set to be hosted leading up to this weekend’s closing events, among which are six debates, a live storytelling, and a dinner that combines storytelling and gastronomy entitled Uma Festança de Histórias – Sete Pratos, Sete Tradições (“A Feast of Stories – Seven Dishes, Seven Traditions”). The shows “The Myth of Writing” and “The Surrealists” are also set for Saturday night at D. Pedro V Theatre.
