The government’s decision will amend the by-laws (administrative regulations) regulating the operations of the two government-appointed councils, as both are currently chaired by the policy secretary for transport and public works, according to Leong.
Addressing a press conference at Government Headquarters, Leong insisted that the changes are aimed at enabling the government to respond to the opinions raised in the respective advisory bodies more effectively.
