Drawings and photographs are displayed at Creative Macau in the gallery’s latest exhibition “Framing A Future Past”, which is on until April 17.
Curated by Sara Neves and aiming to present the city’s diversity, the exhibition has special emphasis on elements that may soon be part of its past. The various works were created by two architects, with the photos on display taken by Nelson Silva, who moved to Macau in 2018 and is a partner at LBA Architecture & Planning, while the drawings were created by João Nuno Marques, who worked at architectural firms across Portugal, Spain, Germany and Turkey prior to moving to the city in 2017, according to information from the gallery.
The statement noted that with Macau’s constantly changing and dynamic environment, documenting the city “becomes crucial, aiming to observe and capture fleeting moments”.
The artworks presented were taken and created between 2018 and 2024, a period of “unveiling and discovering” Macau, the statement said. It also fosters a dialogue between drawing and photography framed around space and time, according to the statement.
One can visit the exhibition on the ground floor of Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. from Mondays to Saturdays. It is closed on public holidays.
