Schoolgirl among 9 drug suspects: police

A schoolgirl and eight other suspects were arrested yesterday in two separate drug-taking and selling cases, a Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesperson said yesterday.

According to the spokesperson, the seven suspects in the first case are from Macau, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Mongolia. The spokesperson said one of the suspects, surnamed Lio, is a 17-year-old schoolgirl.

After receiving a tip-off a week ago that the seven suspects were holding drug parties in a residential flat near the Barrier Gate checkpoint, the police identified the suspects and the location.

     Macau's exports rose but its imports dropped in the first three quarters of the year, resulting in an external merchandise trade deficit to 85.2 billion patacas, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) has announced.      According to a DSEC statement earlier this week, total exports rose by 5.0 percent to 9.98 billion patacas, of which re-exports accounted for 88.7 percent.      Imports fell by 9.6 percent to 95.21 billion
