Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA) Director Susanna Wong Soi Man said yesterday her bureau spent about one million patacas to demolish two shipyards in Coloane’s Lai Chi Vun Village earlier this month.
Concerning the fate of another nine shipyards officially earmarked for demolition, Wong also said her bureau was “carrying out procedures”, with the aim of tearing them down also.Wong made the remarks on the sidelines of an advocacy event for water conservation. The event, co-organised by her bureau and a number of associations, was held in Iao Hon Market Park.
