Macau recorded a total of 390,422 visitor arrivals during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday period, which started on Saturday and ended on Monday, amounting to a daily average of 130,141, according to immigration statistics released by the Public Security Police (PSP) on Tuesday.
The Dragon Boat Festival takes place on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. This year, the Dragon Boat Festival fell on May 31.
According to PSP data released previously, the daily number of visitor arrivals during the three days stood at 151,926, 151,649 and 86,847 respectively.
Macau recorded a total of 342,843 visitor arrivals during last year’s Dragon Boat Festival holiday period, which also lasted three days, or a daily average of 114,281, according to PSP immigration statistics released at that time.
Consequently, the number of visitor arrivals recorded during this year’s Dragon Boat Festival holiday period increased by 13.9 percent from last year’s corresponding holiday period.
