The Public Security Police (PSP) conducted a joint inspection at the G-Dragon concert venue in Cotai on Saturday, in collaboration with the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL). They arrested three female employers from the mainland for their alleged involvement in illegal employment, along with 68 illegal workers from the mainland and a male non-resident worker (NRW) for working in a job not authorised by his work permit, PSP spokesman Wong Wai Chon said during a regular press conference yesterday.

Wong said the three female employers are surnamed Li, Zhong and Dai, aged in their thirties and forties. While Li represented one company from the mainland, Zhong and Dai represented another company from the mainland. The 68 illegal workers, aged in their twenties and thirties, comprised 17 males and 51 females, including 60 enrolled in local universities. The male NRW, identified as Hu, is in his thirties and works for a local hotel.

According to Wong, Li, Zhong and Dai recruited the illegal workers on RedNote as “volunteers” to sell concert merchandise at the venue. The 68 illegal workers cooperated as witnesses in the case. Under questioning, all illegal workers including Hu claimed to have worked as “volunteers”.

Li, Zhong, and Dai have been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing charges of arranging illegal employment for others.
