Integrated resort operator Sands China said in a Wednesday statement that “Disney The Magic Box” will run for 10 shows at The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Macao next month, marking its debut in China.
The 90-minute show, which premiered in Buenos Aires in Argentina last year, is one of the headlined musicals of the 2nd Macao International Children’s Arts Festival (MICAF) that runs from July through August.
The upcoming show is organised by Sands China and presented by leading global live entertainment discovery platform Fever, in collaboration with Proactiv Entertainment.
It will feature beloved characters and excerpts from more than 75 classic songs from Disney films, according to the statement. Among the popular tunes that one can expect to hear are Circle of Life (The Lion King), A Whole New World (Aladdin), Let it Go (Frozen), I am Moana (Moana) and Zero to Hero (Hercules), all played by a live orchestra.
Having been performed in Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa, Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates and Doha in Qatar, the statement said that audiences will be guided on “an enchanting adventure filled with fan-favourite songs, iconic characters, and timeless tales”. The performance is “brought to life by the art of puppetry, magnificent choreography, innovative theatrical techniques and stunning visuals, allowing the audience to experience Disney’s storytelling magic and enjoy quality summer time together as a family”, according to the statement.
Shows are set to take place from July 12 to 13 and 18 to 20. Tickets are available at Cotai Ticketing, Macau Ticket and Damai, priced between 280 patacas and 680 patacas, while shows are scheduled at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. during the dates.
