The Judiciary Police (PJ) were informed by the Macau Customs Service at 7:45 a.m. yesterday that a male body had been discovered in the sea opposite a hotel on Hac Sa Beach Road in Coloane.
According to a PJ statement, the body had been moved to the shore near the Hac Sa Water Sports Centre, and the Public Security Police (PSP) then requested PJ officers to go to the scene to investigate.
The statement did not say how the corpse had been moved, and by whom.
According to preliminary examination, the deceased was male, and no suspicious or criminally induced injuries were found on the body, but, at the time of the PJ statement, the identity of the body had yet to be determined.
The case has been preliminarily listed as a dead body found, and the cause of death still needs to be confirmed by forensic examination, according to the statement.
The statement said that the case has been transferred to the PJ Investigation Section for follow-up.
