Melco Resorts & Entertainment presented the “Macao Orchestra Meet the Musicians” event late last month at Studio City in Cotai, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Focusing on strings, the event featured Macao Orchestra Assistant Conductor Tony Cheng-Te Yeh, First Violin Wang Yue, Second Violin Cao Hui, Li Yueying on Viola, Yan Feng on Cello, and Principal Double Bass Tibor Tóth.

Attendees featured students from The School of Music of Macao Conservatory and Academia de Música São Pio X, local community members, and Melco parent-and-child volunteers. A discussion session between attendees and musicians was also held, alongside performances.

Melco Board Director Clarence Chung Yuk Man was quoted by the statement as saying: “We continue to be devoted to enhancing Macau’s status as a ‘City of Performing Arts’, as we contribute towards youth talent development for the city’s healthy and continued growth.”

Academia de Música São Pio X student Wong Hou Cheng meanwhile said that he felt happy to join the discussion session and hopes that there will be similar events to learn from masters in the future.

Melco Senior Manager of Supply Chain and parent-and-child volunteer team member Eva Chao said the event offered “a chance for my children to get to know these master musicians, as well as for us to enjoy the fabulous performance in person”, hoping it will inspire her son.
