Galaxy Macau kicked off the city’s first-ever “Rolex GMT-MASTER Exhibition: Time Zone to Time Zone” last Friday in the Pearl Lobby of Galaxy Promenade at the integrated resort in Cotai.
On until July 27, a Galaxy Macau statement released earlier this week noted that the free-admission exhibition is presented by Bern Watches in collaboration with Rolex and features themed displays, a curated selection of currently available GMT-Master II watches in the catalogue, as well as a short documentary.
Exhibitiongoers will be provided a glimpse into the evolution of GMT-Master, a watch chosen by globetrotters ranging from actors to adventurers, from “its classic 1955 debut as a pioneering tool watch for commercial aviators to today’s beloved GMT-Master II”, as well as highlights its enduring legacy.
The statement added that the exhibition also showcases the watch’s technical and design breakthroughs, along with key milestones in their evolution. One will see stories of famous figures who wore the GMT-Master and “shaped the history of aviation and contemporary personalities who continue to build on its legendary status in various fields”.
“This exclusive exhibition delves deeply into the professional watch, from its inception, coinciding with the rise of commercial aviation, making it the ideal watch for global travellers, to its continuous role as an urban watch, accompanying people on adventures, keeping wearers closely connected to the world”, the statement said.
The exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
