Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) launched its “In the mind of Bruno Moinard” exhibition yesterday at the GalaxyArt gallery of Galaxy Macau in Cotai, with over 300 artworks on display until December 31.
Created and curated by Bruno Moinard, a renowned French interior designer, scenographer and painter, visitors to the free-admission exhibition will be able to see his oil paintings and sketches, among them being architectural sketches and design concepts of the soon-to-open Capella at Galaxy Macau, the design of which he spearheaded, and sketches of places he had travelled to.
Exhibitiongoers exploring the gallery will also find photos, informative videos and design manuscripts throughout the venue. Moreover, debut design concepts by his interior design studio Moinard Bétaille for Capella at Galaxy Macau are showcased, according to a statement from the integrated resort operator yesterday, noting that all of the works displayed are making their global debut.
Moinard is known for “blending the finest traditions of French craftsmanship with modern design” and was honoured as a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour in 2010, the statement said.
In terms of the exhibits he is showcasing, Moinard said that some include unfinished projects or projects have not been used yet. He also highlighted the sketches of Capella at Galaxy Macau, some of which were created during meetings.
Responding to questions by the Post during a group interview after yesterday’s opening ceremony and exhibition tour, Moinard noted that the exhibition can also show that sometimes, even a small sketch can become something bigger.
In terms of the exhibits he is showcasing, Moinard said that some include unfinished projects or projects have not been used yet. He also highlighted the sketches of Capella at Galaxy Macau, some of which were created during meetings.
Moreover, Moinard pointed out what he finds to be important when taking on projects and working with different brands, those being flexibility and adaptability, all the while being creative, a message that he also hopes to share with others through his pieces on display.
“In the mind of Bruno Moinard” is one of the Special Exhibitions organised by the six integrated resort operators for Art Macao. It also marks the 30th anniversary of Moinard’s career and 12 years of his eponymous design brand, Bruno Moinard Éditions. One can visit it daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
