Guest speakers at yesterday’s Macau Forum agreed that the proportion of flat owners required to agree on the redevelopment of their building should be lowered, from the current 100 percent.

The weekly open-air debate is hosted by government-owned broadcaster TDM in Areia Preta Park every Sunday.

Members of the Urban Renewal Council proposed in a closed-door meeting last month that the required proportion of unit owners that need to agree on the redevelopment of their building be 90 percent for buildings that are between 30 and 40 years old.
