As part of the collateral exhibition of the “Art Macao: Macao International Biennale 2025” (commonly known as “Art Macao 2025”), HWA’s Gallery (formerly known as the Humarish Club) and ArtDeport unveiled a recent solo exhibition entitled “Hi, Luck!” by mainland Chinese contemporary artist Zhang Zhanzhan, according to a last month statement by HWA’s Gallery.
The exhibition explores the concept of luck through the lens of visual storytelling, encouraging viewers to “see”, “seize”, and “embrace” fortune amid life’s unpredictability, the statement said.
The artist believes that “luck is not a sudden gift, but a mindset of keen awareness, active pursuit, and sincere embrace in everyday life”, according to the official Art Macao website.
The website also said that the artworks featured in this exhibition embody the fragments of time, guiding exhibitiongoers to “see luck” - the subtle glow in morning mist; “seize luck”- soaring in fleeting encounters; and “embrace luck” - weaving the warmth in life into a harmonious resonance with the world.
Zhang, known for his intellectual depth and distinctive aesthetic, presents a series of works that blend vibrant imagery with existential themes, as well as his prestigious exhibitions and collections across Asia, using art as a transformative medium to provoke contemplation and emotional resonance, the statement added.
The exhibition offers art lovers and the public an opportunity to connect with one of China’s leading contemporary voices, as well as enhancing the global visibility of the local exhibition, the statement said.
“Hi, Luck!” is being exhibited at HWA’s Gallery at Lisboeta Macau H853 Fun Factory in Cotai, opening daily from 12 noon to 9 p.m. until September 21 with free admission.
