Integrated resort (IR) operator MGM is set to host the grand finale of the year-long “Maritime Silk Road Culinary Art Feast” at MGM MACAU’s Grand Imperial Court from August 29 to 30.
Part of its “Gastronomic Journey with Star Chefs” series, the six-hands* gastronomic event, a Friday MGM statement noted, is scheduled to feature a trio of award-winning chefs: Dong Zhenxiang (aka Da Dong), founder of Chinese Artistic Conception Cuisine and Chef-founder of Da Dong Roast Duck Restaurant Group; Yang Dengquan, Executive Sous Chef of Chinese [cuisine] at MGM COTAI, who helms Five Foot Road; and Homan Tsui, Executive Chef of Chinese [cuisine] at MGM MACAU, who leads Imperial Court.
They will present a curated “Homecoming to the Capital” experience celebrating the legacy of the Maritime Silk Road with iconic cuisines from Beijing, Sichuan and Guangdong, according to the statement.
An eight-course menu, priced at 2,900 patacas per person, will be on offer, with a highlight being the collaborative dish “Double-Boiled Fresh Sea Whelk and Mushroom in Superior Duck Soup” that presents the three chefs’ distinct culinary skills. These are namely “Chef Dong’s profound understanding of Jiangnan flavours, Chef Tsui’s precision of the Guangdong double-boiled soups, and Chef Yang’s unique expertise in mushrooms and herbs”, according to the statement.
