A woman and her son were robbed of HK$120,000 on Wednesday in Nape by three men who claimed to be members of a “powerful” criminal gang, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said yesterday.

According to Lei, the 51 year-old woman and her 25-year-old son are mainlanders.

Lei said the woman told the police that when they were sitting in a park in Nape at about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, three men suddenly approached them. Claiming they were members of a “powerful” criminal gang in Macau, one of the men told the victims to show him their ID cards and demanded that they to hand over all their valuables and cash, which they refused to do. Then two of the men took the son away.
