Artworks by five young local artists are being showcased at the Pavilion of Exhibitions and Artistic Shows for Young People in Praça do Tap Seac (塔石廣場) in a joint exhibition titled “Youth Emotion Illustrated Guide” (青春情感圖鑑), altogether displaying works that visualise inner feelings that viewers might also find emotional resonance with.

Running through September 14, each artist uses artforms such as painting, photography and mixed media to present pieces that convey various emotions from anxiety and excitement to joy and loss, with exhibitiongoers perhaps interpreting each work differently or even empathising with the artists, a statement provided at the gallery noted, adding that these as being the goals the exhibition is aimed at achieving.

The exhibition also serves to provide a “mirror reflecting your inner self”, inviting each visitor to stop and reflect on the pieces as well as their current emotions.

The ongoing exhibition was curated by Race Choi In U, while the works on display were created by artists Tina Lai Chi Ngou, Natalie U (余欣桐), Jacky Hao (侯澤峰), Aurelia Wu Chi Ian and Lulu Yang Lu (陽璐). The statement noted that Lai, U and Wu are artists engaged in different artforms, while freelance artist Hao uses photography and other media in his art. Amateur painter Yang, meanwhile, specialises in digital painting.

According to the recent gallery statement and the venue website, the artists are currently studying or previously studied in Macau, Canada, France and the UK. Having undergone different experiences and emotions while in these places, the artists hope to guide visitors “through memories and different cities, interpreting their inner states”, the statement said.

One may visit the exhibition from Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. during its run. The venue is closed on Mondays.
