The Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum 2025 (GLSTF) is scheduled to take place at MGM COTAI on September 23-24, according to a statement provided yesterday by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).
The event, themed “From Forest to Home – An International Dialogue on Emerging Consumer Trends and Supply Chains Innovation,” will feature nearly 20 different activities. These will include conferences, round-table discussions, exhibitions, B2B matching sessions, and product launches. The statement said that the forum was expected to draw key stakeholders from the global timber and home furnishings industries from over 40 countries and regions for networking and collaboration.
The GLSTF has been hosted in Macau for the past two years. The statement noted that the forum leverages Macau’s platform as a Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination to promote international cooperation. This includes advancing initiatives such as the Action Framework for Promoting Legal & Sustainable Timber Supply Chains, the Global Timber Index Platform, and a Blockchain-Based Timber Traceability System.
The upcoming forum is jointly organised by IPIM and the International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO). It is coordinated by the Secretariat of the Global Green Supply Chains Initiative and supported by MGM as its diamond partner, the statement said.
The forum will feature multiple topical conferences covering the entire timber industry chain, from upstream forest management to downstream consumer markets. The statement said conference topics will include “Emerging Consumer Trends in [the] Global Timber Industry and Supply Chains Innovation” and “Green Finance and Innovative Facilitation Measures.” Representatives from Macau will participate, contributing insights on areas including green finance, low-carbon initiatives, and home design.
A concurrent “Legal & Sustainable Timber Display” will feature about 30 exhibition booths. The statement said that exhibitors will include enterprises, international organisations, and industry associations from the Chinese mainland, Brazil, Germany, Indonesia and Malaysia, among others. The display will showcase products such as logs, sawn timber, furniture, and wooden flooring to facilitate connections between suppliers and buyers.
