The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a 53-year-old mainlander surnamed Chen on Saturday for gambling with dozens of fake HK$1,000 casino chips, PJ spokeswoman Yeung Sau Chan said during a regular press conference yesterday.

According to Yeung, the police received a report on January 8 from a casino in Cotai that one of the casino cashiers in the cage discovered a bogus HK$1,000 chip when changing money into casino chips for customers.

After a thorough check of the chips in the cage, a total of 53 counterfeit HK$1,000 chips were found, according to Yeung.
