Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) Director Li Canfeng confirmed yesterday that his bureau has not issued a construction permit for the former Lok Kok tea house building, which is listed as a heritage site.
Li made the remarks after attending a closed-door meeting of the Urban Renewal Council at the Transport Bureau.Local urban planner Rhino Lam Iek Chit told reporters on Monday he suspected that the government had allowed the demolition of a major part of the building’s outer walls.
