The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO), in conjunction with KB Kookmin Card and Mastercard Korea, will this week unveil the first “KB Kookmin Travelers Check Card - Macao Edition” debit card enabling discounts in travel bookings and activities in Macau, according to a statement yesterday.
MGTO noted that users of the card will be able to access “exclusive privileges for Macau tourism related products” in addition to the standard KB Kookmin Travelers Check Card benefits.
“Through collaboration with major Macau tourism enterprises and merchants, the card gives access to discounts on designated bookings online for air tickets and hotels, as well as benefits while in the city such as dining and entertainment activities like residency shows”, the statement said, with more related travel discounts to be added.
A lifestyle video produced by MGTO, Mastercard Korea and Marie Claire Korea magazine featuring South Korean actor Chase Jong-hyeop in Macau has also been launched to celebrate and promote the card, which can be viewed on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdDkbNgMlgo. The statement said that the card is also being promoted through KB Kookmin Card’s platforms, while special bank cards featuring Macau’s heritage buildings were issued.
The statement said that KB Financial Group subsidiary Kookmin Card is a leading credit card company in South Korea, one of Macau’s top foreign visitor source markets. Visitor arrivals from the country are increasing, with MGTO recording a total of 382,494 in the first three quarters of the year, up by 12 percent year-on-year, according to official figures.
