Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosario said yesterday the government would decide whether or not to fine CTM after analysing its detailed report about the partial failure of its Internet service on Tuesday night.

About 30,000 customers were affected by the about four-hour-long incident, according to CTM. The company’s top management members “sincerely” apologised for it on Wednesday at a press conference, where they assumed “total” responsibility for the glitch.

The company said that the incident was caused by a “software defect” in its system and that it would “completely” fix the glitch to ensure the problem does not happen again.
