Orbis Macau will hold the second Charity Street Event for its annual Action for Sight (AFS) campaign tomorrow, according to a statement from the non-governmental organisation (NGO).
The first event was held in the Horta e Costa district in mid-October.
Tomorrow’s event will take place from noon to 6 p.m. in the Areia Preta and Iao Hon Market areas. The statement noted that volunteers in Orbis’ signature blue vests will collect donations to raise funds for its global sight-saving programmes.
Two information booths will be set up for the public: a main booth at the entrance to the Luso-Chinese Vocational and Technical School and a supplementary booth in front of the iSQUARE Computer Plaza. The statement said the public can visit the booths to learn more about Orbis, its sight-saving programmes and sustainable training, as well as to learn about eye care.
Donors will receive a sheet of themed stickers, and those giving 100 patacas or more will also receive a commemorative badge, the statement noted. Additional mementoes are available for those signing up to monthly or annual donation programmes.
The third Charity Street Event is slated to take place on November 22 in Taipa, covering the surrounding area of Flower City Garden and Central Park.
