The “Not Terminal” public artwork by renowned Beijing-born contemporary artist Yin Xiuzhen (尹秀珍) is being displayed in the Macao Cultural Centre Plaza in Nape as part of “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025”.

On display until December 12, the installation is featured in Art Macao’s “Public Art Installation” section, where several works are being showcased around the city.

According to a statement from the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) yesterday, the piece by Yin, known for her “highly distinctive installation and participatory artworks”, is an interactive video installation that features a platform centred around a “static luggage conveyor belt loop” and plastic blankets around the conveyor belt as an interactive space for the public. Above the installation are also screens featuring live site footage and pre-recorded scenes, according to the statement.

The statement said that by contrasting “terminal” and “non-terminal” concepts, the work examines life’s fluidity and uncertainty, encouraging members of the public to reflect on its meaning amidst chaos while highlighting the uniqueness and diversity of individuals and groups in motion.

One can find more details, including of other public artworks, activities and exhibitions, by visiting  www.artmacao.mo and other social platforms.
