Police bust ‘drug parties’ in karaoke bar

A total of 39 suspects from Macau, Hong Kong and the mainland were nabbed on Sunday for selling and taking drugs during “drug parties” in a karaoke bar in Nape, a Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesperson said yesterday.

According to the spokesperson, 25 of the suspects are males. The spokesperson said the suspects include businesspeople, a nurse, a junket PR staff, plus the DJ and manager of the venue.

When the police raided the bar in Nape, the officers found that the suspects were taking drugs in two karaoke rooms, the spokesperson said, adding they found a total of 20.88 grammes of marijuana, 18.74 grammes of ketamine and four Happy 5 pills during the raid. The drugs were worth HK$33,000 (about 34,000 patacas).
