The Legislative Assembly Electoral Affairs Committee (CAEAL) has so far not received any complaints from staff members of schools who are allegedly being forced to sign election candidature nomination forms, CAEAL President Tong Hio Fong said yesterday, appealing to those affected to ask his committee for assistance.

Self-declared election monitor Jason Chao Teng Hei said last Wednesday that his new platform, “Project Just Macau”, had received three election-related complaints about teachers at two schools being forced to sign nomination forms.

According to Chao, one of the schools is in the peninsula while the other is in Taipa. He said the mid-level management of the schools either had asked teachers to sign the nomination form in front of them or circulated a form with a number of teachers’ signatures already on it.
