The Civil Aviation Authority (AACM) announced in a Saturday statement that it had instructed Air Macau to implement a precautionary software update required by Airbus for its A320 aircraft.
According to the statement, Airbus notified the local aviation regulator on Friday of the need of a precautionary software update. The AACM immediately told Air Macau to assess the issue and follow the required procedures.
Air Macau, according to the statement, acted promptly on upgrading the necessary software updates to the relevant aircraft and made “appropriate re-scheduling arrangements to affected flights,” the statement said, adding that the measures aimed to minimise inconvenience to passengers.
According to an Air Macau statement on Saturday night, in response to the notification regarding the software upgrade for Airbus A320 aircraft, the software upgrade for the 12 affected planes had been completed by 8:30 p.m. on that day, and flight operations have returned to normal.
AACM said in its statement that it will continue to monitor the matter to ensure the operational safety of local flight services.
