The government’s top advisory Executive Council (ExCo) announced yesterday that it has completed its discussion of a government-drafted regulation on the so-called Temporary Measure of Income Subsidy.
The draft regulation proposes renewing the subsidy for low-income residents and to widen its eligibility requirements for applicants with disabilities. The subsidy was first implemented in 2008 and has been renewed annually since.ExCo spokesman Leong Heng Teng made the announcement during a press conference at Government Headquarters.
