4 Macau gaming operators announce staff bonuses

Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), Melco Resorts & Entertainment, Wynn Macau, Limited and MGM have announced in separate statements discretionary bonuses equivalent to a month’s salary for eligible staff.

GEG released its statement on Wednesday, while the other three operators issued theirs yesterday. 


Galaxy Entertainment Group

Discretionary bonuses will be awarded by GEG to staff at Senior Manager Grade and below, being set to benefit around 97 percent of employees.

The discretionary bonuses of a month’s base salary and guaranteed tips (if applicable), will be granted on February 9. The company highlighted: “GEG recognises its team members as valuable assets”, extending gratitude to staff for their dedication.

Moreover, the integrated resort operator noted that through its offerings, it has promoted Macau’s “tourism+” cross-sector integration, earning widespread recognition and support, and awards. The statement added that since 2023, GEG has staged over 1,000 high-profile entertainment performances, sport, cultural and MICE events.


Melco Resorts & Entertainment

Melco Resorts & Entertainment announced in its statement that all eligible non-management staff in Macau and Hong Kong are slated to receive their discretionary bonuses by the end of January. 

The statement quoted Melco Resorts & Entertainment Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho Yau-lung as saying: “The discretionary bonus payment acknowledges our colleagues’ dedication and support throughout the past year. We sincerely appreciate their loyalty and commitment in consistently exceeding guest expectations, which together help the company maintain and excel [in] its leadership position within the entertainment and hospitality industry.”


Wynn Macau, Limited

Wynn Macau, Limited noted that its “Special Allowance” will be paid out on January 30 for eligible full-time Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace staff, representing 98 percent of the current 11,552 workforce.

The statement quoted the company’s Vice Chairman and Executive Director Linda Chen Chih-ling as thanking staff for their efforts and contributions over the past year, saying: “We are pleased to announce a special allowance in recognition of their hard work. This year marks the important milestone of our 20th anniversary in Macau – not only an achievement for Wynn but also a testament to the dedication of all our team members”.


MGM

Integrated resort operator MGM is set to distribute discretionary bonuses starting from January 21 which is slated to benefit around 95 percent of staff.

Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited Pansy Ho Chiu King said in the statement: “Reflecting on 2025, we carried forward the momentum of a new chapter by continuously optimising our innovative products and service experiences, achieving steady progress in our business development – all thanks to the dedication and hard work of our team. Looking ahead, MGM will continue to leverage its core strengths with an unwavering focus on our guests.”

SJM and Sands have still to announce whether they will give discretionary bonuses to their staff as well.
