Integrated resort operators Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), Wynn Macau, Limited, SJM Resorts and Melco Resorts & Entertainment have each announced a salary increase for staff in separate statements yesterday.
GEG
GEG noted in their statement that their pay rise will benefit around 98 percent of staff, with eligible employees at Senior Manager grade and below set to receive it from April 1.
The statement said that eligible staff who joined the company before January 1, 2026 will benefit, noting that those with a monthly base salary and guaranteed tips (if applicable) of 16,000 patacas or below will be awarded with an increment of 500 patacas. Staff with a monthly base salary and guaranteed tips (if applicable) over 16,000 patacas will receive a 2.0 percent salary increase, according to the statement.
“GEG thanks all team members for their dedication and hard work, and looks forward to achieving greater success together, guided by the belief of ‘One Team, One Goal’”, the statement said.
Wynn Macau, Limited
Wynn Macau, Limited announced a salary increase of between 2.0 percent and 4.5 percent for eligible staff (excluding senior management) of Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace, covering 98 percent of its current 11,803 workforce and will be effective from March 1.
The statement said that eligible staff with a monthly salary of 16,000 patacas or below will receive a 500 pataca salary increase, equivalent to an increase of 3.1 percent to 4.5 percent. Moreover, those earning over 16,000 patacas will receive an average of a 2.0 percent salary increase.
Wynn Macau, Limited President, Vice Chairman and Executive Director Linda Chen Chih-ling was quoted by the statement as saying: “The company’s success relies on the tireless efforts and dedication of every team member. We hope to share the fruits of our collective achievements through this salary increase”.
Chen also highlighted that this year holds a “special significance” with the 20th anniversary of Wynn Macau and the 10th anniversary of Wynn Palace.
SJM
SJM Resorts had also announced a salary increase for staff, according to an internal announcement released yesterday that was seen by the Post, being effective from April 1.
The memo noted that the salary increases will be given to staff who joined the company before January 1, 2026. Eligible staff earning 16,000 patacas or less monthly will receive a salary increase of 500 patacas. Eligible staff earning more than 16,000 patacas will receive a 2.0 percent pay rise.
Melco Resorts & Entertainment
Melco Resorts & Entertainment noted in their announcement last night that a pay rise ranging from 2.0 percent and 6.3 percent will be effective from April 1 for eligible non-management staff in Macau and Hong Kong.
An increase of 500 patacas will be paid to eligible full-time non-management employees earning a monthly base salary (including guaranteed tips) of up to 16,000 patacas, representing an increase of 3.1 percent to 6.3 percent.
Eligible full-time non-management employees earning a monthly base salary (including guaranteed tips) of more than 16,000 patacas per month will receive an increment of 2.0 percent.
Melco Resorts & Entertainment Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho Yau-lung was quoted as saying: “Our team is fundamental to the service we provide at Melco. We are pleased to implement this pay increase to recognise their commitment, dedication and hard work”.
Sands China was the first to announce a salary increase for its employees, having done so in the same statement on Monday that announced its discretionary bonus for staff. Moreover, each of the six operators have also previously announced discretionary bonuses equivalent to a month’s pay for staff.
