Zhang urges legislature to keep supervising govt

National People’s Congress (NPC) Chairman Zhang Dejiang yesterday urged local lawmakers to continue supervising the government and keep up with its legislative work, Legislative Assembly President Ho Iat Seng said yesterday.

According to Ho, Zhang made the remarks in a speech to the city’s lawmakers during his visit to the Legislative Assembly building in Nam Van on the second day of a three-day inspection visit to Macau.

Ho briefed reporters about Zhang’s speech to lawmakers after the visit as local media were not allowed to attend the meeting. Zhang, the nation’s top lawmaker, was the first state leader to visit the local legislature.
