The Civil Aviation Authority of Macau (AACM) announced in a statement yesterday that unmanned aircraft flights will be prohibited across the Macau peninsula on February 15, 17, 19, 23, and March 3, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. to ensure safety during the “2026 Chinese New Year Drones and Fireworks Displays” on those days.
The three-hour drone ban each time over the peninsula, published in the Official Gazette (BO) No. 46, Series II, yesterday, is based on Article 66 of the Air Navigation Regulation of Macau.
The measure aims to prevent risks or interference during the city’s traditional firework displays. Violations will result in penalties pursuant to Paragraph 2 of Article 59 of Law No. 4/2025 (Civil Aviation Activity Law). The statement urges the public to heed the ban in order to maintain safety and order throughout the displays.
