The creativity and talents of youths from different schools are being showcased in two exhibitions, namely the Exhibition of Works for the 70th Anniversary of Escola Estrela do Mar, and a display of the winning entries from the recently concluded “CEM Clean Energy City Challenge (4th Edition)”.
The exhibition by Escola Estrela do Mar (“Sea Star School”) runs through Saturday and presents a varied selection of works at the Education and Youth Development Bureau’s (DSEDJ) Centre of Educational Resources on Avenida da Praia Grande.
From classroom works to creative achievements, members of the public can view paintings, calligraphy, 3D creations, photography, and multimedia pieces, with works by students and even alumni displayed, as noted in a recent statement by the Catholic school. Information on the school and its history is also presented, with one able to view it all until Saturday.
The efforts of teachers and students in achieving accolades in academics, sport and the arts were also highlighted in a recent exhibition statement displayed at the venue, with the school continuing to “embrace its historical mission, evolving with the times to cultivate more exceptional talents equipped with both character and skills, writing an even more brilliant chapter”, the statement said.
Meanwhile, at the Pavilion of Exhibitions and Artistic Shows for Young People in Praça do Tap Siac (塔石廣場), members of the public can view the six winning works created by student groups from various local schools for the fourth edition of the “CEM Clean Energy City Challenge”.
The challenge, which was themed “Making Macau a Sustainable City”, was joined by more than 300 students of 56 teams representing 21 local secondary schools. The teams vied for the top prize in two categories, namely “Environment & Energy Conservation” for Form 1 to Form 3 students, and “Clean Energies & Technology” for students from Form 4 to Form 6, with the top three per category displayed until March 15.
Colégio Diocesano de São José 5 (Chinese Section) was named champion of the F1-F3 category, while the top two spots went to Colégio do Sagrado Coração de Jesus (English Section) and Escola Fong Chong da Taipa respectively.
The team from Colégio do Sagrado Coração de Jesus/Sacred Heart Canossian College (English Section), meanwhile, took the top prize in the F4-F6 category, followed by Pui Ching Middle School (Macau) in second and Colégio Perpétuo Socorro Chan Sui Ki (“Chan Sui Ki Perpetual Help College”) in third.
