The Public Security Bureau (PSB) in Hengqin announced in a statement yesterday afternoon that two females fell victim to robbery in the adjacent island on Friday, one of whom was killed in the attack.
Later in the afternoon, the private Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) identified both at its students.
In the brief statement, the bureau identified the suspect as a 26-year-old male surnamed Chen.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on Friday evening when the suspect allegedly committed the robbery targeting the two women in a “residential community” in Hengqin, resulting in the death of one of the victims.
MUST said in its statement yesterday afternoon that it places great importance on the matter and has arranged for a working group to follow up. As the Public Security Bureau in Hengqin are still investigating the case, the university said that no further information on the case was available for the time being.
