The public Macao University of Tourism (UTM) held its 2026 Career Day yesterday on its Taipa campus, bringing together 64 organisations and offering more than 1,200 job vacancies for graduating students.

The one-day event provided a direct platform for students to engage with employers from various sectors, including hospitality, finance, retail and integrated resorts. Participating enterprises included Macau’s six integrated resort operators – Galaxy, Sands, SJM, Melco, MGM, and Wynn.

On-site interviews were arranged, and two “outstanding alumni” discussed their career development and experience with students.

In her speech, Rector Fanny Vong Chuk Kwan said that Career Day is not only about recruitment but also about “conversations that open doors” and partnerships that support students’ transition into the workforce. She highlighted UTM’s efforts to align its programmes with industry needs, including the introduction of new courses integrating management, data science and digital competencies.

According to a recent graduate employment survey, UTM graduates earned a median monthly salary of around 16,000 patacas, entering industries such as tourism, catering, finance, and public administration.

The public university said in a statement on the sidelines of yesterday’s Career Day that it continues to expand its regional presence, with plans to extend its master’s degree programmes to Hengqin starting this September, further strengthening ties within the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

The statement also said that yesterday’s Career Day reflected its ongoing commitment to preparing students for evolving industry demands, while strengthening collaboration between academia and employers to support Macau’s talent development and economic diversification.
