The Judiciary Police (PJ) nabbed a masseuse from Vietnam for dealing in drugs, PJ spokesman Ho Wai Lok said at a regular press conference yesterday.

Ho identified the suspect as a 34-year-old non-resident worker (NRW) surnamed La.

According to Ho, based on a tip-off, the Judiciary Police identified La as a suspected drug dealer and took action on Tuesday afternoon.

In La’s flat, in the city centre, PJ officers seized 37 ecstasy pills, complete with packaging, weighing a total of 22.92 grams; five small packets of crystal meth, weighing a total of 5.52 grams; and four small packets of ketamine, weighing a total of 4.3 grams; as well as HK$45,000 (46,278 patacas) and 1,900 yuan in suspected proceeds from drug-related activities, Ho said, adding that the estimated street value of the drugs was around 28,000 patacas.

Under questing, Ho said, La claimed that most of her customers were her compatriots. La’s urine test returned a negative result for drug use.

La has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) recently, facing a drug trafficking charge, Ho said, adding that the Judiciary Police are still investigating the origin of the drugs and pursuing any other individuals probably involved in the case.
