A photography contest titled “Discovering Macau and Hengqin” is now open for entries, according to a Monday statement by the International Institute of Macau (IIM), inviting participants to capture the diversity and beauty of both Macau and Hengqin.

According to the statement, contestants are encouraged to explore natural landscapes, urban settings, and the cultural interaction between the two areas. The aim is to portray Macau’s multicultural communities, historical heritage, traditions, and festivities, while also documenting Hengqin’s “development process” alongside Macau.

Entries are accepted in two categories: digital camera photography and drone photography, the statement said.

All submitted pictures must be original works created between September 2025 and September 2026. Each participant may join only one category and may submit up to five photos. Entries must be in JPEG format with a resolution of at least 2 megapixels.

The statement noted that digital montages or excessive edits that create unrealistic alterations will be rejected. Previously published or awarded works, as well as submissions to previous institute contests, will not be accepted either.

The deadline for submissions is September 25. Further details are available from IIM’s website https://iimacau.org.mo/
