The inaugural Macao International Audio-Visual Festival (MIAVF) is slated to be held at Wynn Macau from June 1-3, according to a Friday statement by the integrated resort operator.

“The festival aims to present an industry exchange event that is both professional and international, fostering deep synergy between China’s Internet audio-visual industry and its global counterparts”, the statement noted.

Among the activities set for the three-day event are an internet audio-visual works showcase, internet influencers award ceremony, international microdrama gala, short video creation activities, professional industry forums, and business matching and promotion sessions.

The statement said that the Macau Internet Audiovisual Association held a launch ceremony during 13th China Internet Audio & Video Convention’s main forum in Chengdu last Wednesday, adding that Wynn is a “strategic partner” of the upcoming event.

The statement said that the event will be organised by the China Netcasting Services Association (CNSA), the Macau Internet Audiovisual Association, the Federation of Associations of Cultural Sectors of Macau, Macau Cultural Promotion Association, and Nam Kwong Culture and Creativity Industry Co., Ltd.

According to the statement, the unveiling was witnessed by Nie Chenxi, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), deputy director of its Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies, and CNSA president; and He Biao, deputy director and NRTA Communist Party of China (CPC) Leadership Group member.

Cultural Affairs Bureau President Deland Leong Wai Man, who is accompanying Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai on his current official visit to Europe, urged  potential participants in a message by video link to join the upcoming event in Macau.
