The “Echoes of India · Taste of Tradition Dinner Buffet” took place at Grand Coloane Resort on Saturday, with themed activities showcased in addition to a raft of delicacies.
Featuring Northern and Southern Indian specialties, along with beverages and desserts, the buffet was curated by Chef Nathi and his team, with a spread providing “a journey across India’s diverse culinary regions” showcased at the resort’s Café Panorama and Garden Lawn, according to a statement provided by the resort on Sunday.
Themed activities, music and cultural performances, as well as experiences including a themed art exhibition and those related to tea, also held during the day.
The event was presented in conjunction with the Consulate General of India in the Hong Kong & Macau SARs. The statement quoted Consul General Rajesh N. Naik as saying: “Events like this reflect the strong and vibrant connections between India and Macau, not only through history, but through people, culture, and shared experiences today. Macau and Goa share deep-rooted cultural linkages, and in many ways, this celebration of Indian cuisine and traditions brings that connection to life”.
Grand Coloane Resort General Manager Christian Buggelsheim was also quoted as saying: “The evening was not only about experiencing a different culture, but about creating genuine connections in a relaxed island setting. Seeing families and friends enjoying the performances, sharing conversations, and taking part in the activities reflects exactly what we hope to achieve, meaningful moments that stay with our guests long after the evening ends”.
Moreover, local Indian community representative and event consultant Aruna Jha said in the statement that it “was heartwarming to see the community come together and experience Indian culture in such an open and engaging way”.
