A local Filipina has been arrested for selling drugs to her compatriots since January, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Lei Chi Hou said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Lei identified the suspect as a 61-year-old Macau ID card (BIR) holder surnamed Trinidad, who told the police that she is jobless.
Lei said that the police recently received a tip-off that someone was selling drugs, after which they identified Trinidad as the suspect.
On Tuesday night, the police put the area around the Filipina’s home, located in the peninsula’s central district, under surveillance, after which they intercepted her in the early hours of Wednesday. The police seized two packs of ice weighing 1.52 grammes in total from her, with an estimated street value of 4,500 patacas.
The police also seized drug-taking paraphernalia from her.
Afterwards, Lei said, the police searched Trinidad’s home where they seized an electronic scale, and a quantity of plastic bags used for storing drugs, Lei said.
Under questioning, the Filipina admitted that she had been selling drugs to her compatriots in Macau since January this year. She also tested positive for drugs.
She has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) for further investigation, facing drug selling and taking charges.
