A naked man was intercepted by police after wandering the streets yesterday afternoon and was subsequently taken to hospital for an examination, according to a Public Security Police (PSP) statement provided to public broadcaster TDM.

Police received a public report at around 5 p.m. regarding a man walking naked along Avenida do Almirante Lacerda in the Patane district. Officers later intercepted him in the Red Market area.

The man failed to respond to officers’ questions at the scene, and his identity could not be immediately confirmed. He was handed over to the Fire Services Bureau (CB) and taken to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre.

The police stated last night that they were still awaiting the results of the hospital’s medical evaluation.

Videos of the incident circulating on social media also show the man entering a supermarket, where he was quickly removed from the premises by staff.

This pixelated photo taken from WeChat yesterday shows the naked man walking along a street in Macau yesterday afternoon. The Macau Post Daily cannot vouch for the authenticity of the photo.
