Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) Acting Director Chan Un Tong said yesterday that a recent case involving a local hotel, which had been suspected of employment fraud, was in fact a misunderstanding.
Chan made the remarks on the sidelines of an award ceremony for a health and safety programme for restaurant workers at the Macau Science Centre in Nape.
DSAL Director Wong Chi Hong told reporters last month that the bureau had received complaints from four locals, saying they had been hired by a hotel and signed their employment contracts, but were suddenly told that they were no longer needed.
