A new employment and training programme jointly launched by the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) and integrated resort operator Sands China Ltd. opens for applications today, according to a statement by the bureau yesterday.
The “Sands China Hotel Elite Development Plan” adopts an “employment first, training later” approach to help residents enhance professional skills and support career advancement, the statement said, adding that the programme offers a total of eight vacancies for “front office supervisor trainee” and “concierge supervisor trainee” roles.
Successful applicants will undergo a 15-month training programme arranged by Sands, combining practical work experience with professional training, the statement noted, pointing out that the training content includes cross-department learning within integrated resort operations, hotel operations theory and practical training, Power BI* data visualisation courses, Forbes Travel Guide (FTG) Service Standards** training, LinkedIn learning courses, and certification programmes from the UK’s City & Guilds in leadership and management.
Upon completion and passing the required assessments, participants who meet performance standards may be promoted according to their chosen career path, with front office trainees advancing to front office supervisor roles and concierge trainees to concierge supervisor roles, alongside salary adjustments, the statement said.
Applications will be accepted online until May 17 via https://www.dsal.gov.mo/zh_tw/standard/sands2026_pg3.html. Eligible applicants will later be invited to attend a seminar and on-site interviews scheduled for May 26, where further details of the programme will be introduced, the statement noted.
The bureau said that the programme aims to promote upward mobility and employment stability among residents through structured training and career development opportunities.

The Forbes Travel Guide (FTG) Service Standards are a globally recognised benchmark used to evaluate luxury hotels, restaurants, spas, and cruise ships. Unlike other rating systems that focus heavily on physical amenities, the Forbes system is unique because it prioritises service quality (roughly 70-75 percent of the total score) over facilities (25-30 percent). The standards are a proprietary set of approximately 900 objective criteria used by anonymous inspectors to determine a property’s Star Rating (Five-Star, Four-Star, or Recommended). – Gemini
