Free admission workshops, exhibitions and guided tours are set to be held across various Macau World Heritage Sites and cultural facilities for the upcoming “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day”, with registration for the events open.
Cultural and Natural Heritage Day is celebrated annually on the Second Saturday of June. This year, it falls on June 13.
According to a recent statement from the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the “3D Dragon Boat Painting Workshop” at The House of Macao Literature, the “Wormwood Herbal Hammer Workshop” at the Mandarin’s House, the “Chinese Bonsai Workshop” and the ‘“Fortune and Glory” Gold Leaf Art Workshop’ at the Lou Kau Mansion, are among the various workshops scheduled.
In terms of thematic exhibitions, these include the ongoing “VIEW INTO THE GREAT HAN – The Exhibition of Exquisite Cultural Relics from the Han Dynasty in Xuzhou” at the Macau Museum, the “Duet of Nature: Ming and Qing Landscape Paintings from the National Museum of China” at the Macau Museum of Art (MAM), and “City in Rephotography* – Exhibition of Historical Photographs from the Archives of Macao” at the Archives of Macau, the statement said.
The statement added that the “Visiting the Ruins of St. Paul’s in Space and Time–Exhibition of Virtual Reality at the Ruins of St. Paul’s” will have free sessions from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. during weekends this month.
Meanwhile, free entrance, with some featuring guided tours, will also be available at various World Heritage Sites and cultural facilities on select weekends this month, starting with the Guia Lighthouse 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on June 13 and 14, along with the Senado Library and the Chinese Ancient Books Chamber of the Sir Robert Ho Tung Library on the same period.
